ADOLESCENT YOUNG WOMEN
-
I work with adolescent females, ages 16 and up, as we navigate a variety of topics and issues, including questions/insecurities around identity, increased pressures and decision making, emotional expression and regulation, effective communication, self-esteem, and more. My approach is systems oriented, meaning that parent/family involvement is both welcome and, at times, encouraged depending on the issue.

ADULT INDIVIDUALS
-
I provide counseling to adult individuals across the lifespan seeking to achieve more freedom, acceptance, or confidence in their relationships, career, circumstances, &/or life choices. No matter the presenting issue, I strive to meet you where you are while honoring where you want to be. I am dedicated to creating a warm and challenging space where your individual needs and inherent value are recognized.

COUPLES &
FAMILY SYSTEMS
-
Throughout our lives, our family of origin and closest relationships will seek to stabilize themselves through a series of familiar patterns or “dances.” I work with couples and family systems to help them slow down the music, identify their dance, and earnestly examine the underlying driving emotions and communication patterns that keep them stuck in their cycle(s). This is done with abundant compassion and a posture of accountability, so that every client may walk away feeling more aware, and thus attuned, to their collective and individual needs and goals.

BRAINSPOTTING
-
Discovered in 2003 by Dr. David Grand, “Brainspotting locates points in the client’s visual field that help to access unprocessed trauma in the subcortical brain” aka the deep brain. It is a brain-based tool that is empirically proven to help address a wide variety of emotional and somatic conditions, and is particularly effective when treating anxiety, depression and other behavioral conditions stemming from trauma-based situations. According to Brainspotting.com, “it can also be used with performance and creativity enhancement. [BSP] gives the therapist access to both brain and body processes. Its goal is to bypass the conscious, neocortical thinking to access the deeper, subcortical emotional and body-based parts of the brain.”

I do not accept insurance or file insurance claims but I do accept HSA / FSA cards. I am also happy to provide you with receipts for each session upon request. Please feel free to ask me about this option during our phone consultation, but below are a few important factors to keep in mind:
Your insurance would need to reimburse an out-of-network provider and you would need to meet the criteria for a medical diagnosis (e.g., anxiety, depression, or post traumatic stress disorder, etc.).
Not all insurance plans include out-of-network benefits and coverage, so it is encouraged that you contact your provider ahead of time for more information, and to inquire whether prior authorization is needed.
I will provide you with a Superbill, including the amount and date of service, but you will be responsible for seeking reimbursement from your provider.
Please note: Each insurance company and plan vary with how they reimburse and how much they financially reimburse.

There is a 24-hour cancellation policy.
This is to ensure that the clinician and clients’ schedules are honored to the best of our ability.

Yes! Telehealth is a great and accessible option for those seeking counseling outside of Nashville city limits (in the state of Tennessee) or for those with busy work schedules.
Virtual sessions are provided through a secure, HIPAA-compliant portal with a unique link each time.
As noted above, due to current state licensure rules, I am limited to seeing telehealth clients that reside in the state of TN at this time.
